Punch Brothers are a bit of a bluegrass super group, formed by mandolin superstar Chris Thile. The group is made up of childhood prodigies in their own respective instruments, and takes traditional bluegrass instruments such as the banjo, mandolin, and violin, and plays progressive, pop songs that draw influence from classical, almost orchestral arrangements. Since their debut on the music scene, they have been highly acclaimed by music critics, pop and bluegrass fans, and fans of classical music alike. The group is playing a style of music that is completely original and sports arguably the most classically trained and talented lineups on the market today.
